Those who had stayed at the Chifley Plaza Townsville were quite satisfied with the level of accommodation on offer though the rooms were mentioned as being small. According to some guests the staff was friendly and very helpful in their service. The hotel has also been praised for its excellent location and coming across as a good value for money option in North Queensland. However guests have been critical of the fact that the hotel lacks a restaurant. Some of the reviews were quite positive with guests revealing that the hotel was flexible in catering to the needs of guests.
